Biography of MOYINOLUWA OLUTAYO.
Moyinoluwa Olutayo is a Nigerian Actress, Producer, Filmmaker, Content Creator, TV host, Compere, Media Consultant and Model from Ondo state. She was brought up and schooled in Lagos and is married to an Ogun state indigene. The union is blessed with children.
She graduated from the University of Ibadan, with Bachelor of Arts in English. Her initial course choice was Theatre arts but she was admitted to study English. Left with no choice, she decided to combine Theatre arts courses with her English courses, balancing both sides and making the best out of it.
She developed interest in acting from her earlier days, believing that acting was in her.
She represented both her primary and secondary schools in drama, debates and sports at several occasions. Choosing acting as her career was a rather easy decision to make as she already took part in many dramas and plays while in secondary school.
This gave her the much needed exposure. She made her first TV production for a TV series in NTA(Nigerian Television Authority) before she was admitted in to the university of Ibadan.
In the university, she was engaged in several series production including a major production titled “414Connection” which landed in six Western States in the federation. During her days in the university, she shuffled between being a student and partaking in major productions in Lagos, whilst working for a popular production company known as Fortune.
Her first production which she was also featured in with popular actors like Antar Laniyan, a famous Yoruba actor, made her a major hit and brought her into lime light.
She also participated in other productions afterwards. She commenced her modelling career even as she worked for an advertisement company for a short while before becoming a full time TV program host in 1994 at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) where she co-hosted on TV shows for more than two years.
Her turning point was in 2003, after she featured in a series with a popular actor, Tunji Adegbiji, titled Schemes which aired on many TV stations in 2001 and 2002. This got her the recognition and acknowledgement of many who invited her to their own projects.
It’s her belief that ‘whatever you do, do it well’. She got an invitation from the producer of the famous series titled Dear Mother which she gladly accepted. Her fulfillment was her audience being able to identify and interpret the series while their lives are being impacted. She received suggestions from her audience which engineered her into script writing.
All these led her on and opened new doors and opportunities.
She became brand ambassador for various brands and also got a huge deal from Dominos; a popular international company where she got to work with many famous and influential personalities.
It is her belief that for one to be successful in life, one have to have an ‘Eagle’s mentality’. She illuminates the major feature of an eagle being focused. It’s also her believe that what works for one may not work for another but with an Eagle’s mentality (focus), one’s potential are unlimited.
She feels disappointed in youths who lacks focus, determination and persistence in their passion.
She also believes that challenges and hard times will come, therefore one should be well prepared because if one is well prepared, focused and determined, challenges and hard times are steps that takes one closer to success.
